"Tell me how to defeat the freakin' Devil." Dean sounded pissed. Also, a little croaky. Heh.
Pes sighed. "I told you how it works. You're just infecting yourself."
Dean scowled, and let go.
Flapping her arms like an ungainly bird, Pestilence fell through the air; she whistled, and her horse appeared under her, breaking her fall. She flung herself up into the saddle and settled the creature on solid ground, shaking her head.
"Really, babe – big girls don't fly."

Since they'd started round two of whatever-this-was, Pes had been ignored by the angel crowd – Loki's threats to Jeremiel had been extremely gratifying. But now Loki was working with Anna, and Pestilence hated the bitter taste in her mouth when she saw them.
"I don't like her," she said, hand resting over Loki's heart, counting angelic beats.
She could hear the smirk. "Jealous, Pes?"
"Bite me, feathers," she snapped, but his chest rumbled with laughter and she couldn't help but smile.
Smitten. The world was doomed.
